Morenos

The island's western point, at once a shaded picnic area and geosite. The cliff exposes a network of volcanic dykes ranging from volcanic, witnesses to several phases of magma rise, some with column-shaped cracking. Above them, orange-yellow recent dune sandstones carry palaeosols and rhizoconcretions: calcified roots proving that vegetation grew here about 30,000 years ago. Fossils of land snails are also found, including endemic species now extinct. The tarmac road passes 6 m away.
